Chamber Hosts Google Workshop

Posted

Google WokshopIs your business listed on Google search and maps? 95% of consumers use the web to look for goods and services, but only 37% of businesses have claimed their business online. This Thursday, the chamber partnered with the city, Lee Media Group, and Emprise Bank to get Rose Hill on the map with a Google workshop.

The free workshop, sponsored by Google, was held in the Rose Hill City Hall. Emprise bank provided lunch, and all chamber members were invited to attend. Participants learned how to claim and update their business listings on Google. The process was easy, and members were able to start adding accurate information to their Google listing. Additionally, they learned how to link their chamber websites to Google search, increasing visibility for their online profiles. Lee Media Group staff led the event, and provided technical support. Everyone who attended received a free “swag bag” with Google goodies.

We were excited to finally host this event, and we hope to have more workshops in the future. It’s important to get local businesses listed on the map, as it builds awareness for not only individuals, but the city as a whole.

For those who attended, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to improve your web presence! If you weren’t able to stop by, you can set up a time to meet with Lee Media Group and learn the process.
