  • Former middle school science teacher and adjunct instructor
  • Elected as Augusta’s first female mayor in 2007
  • Member of the 2012 Class of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Excellence in Public Series
  • Class of 2014 Leadership Kansas
  • As a volunteer, chaired Project Play Park that raised $132,000 to build a playground
  • Led the successful Save Our State Street Campaign that raised over $200,000 for downtown revitalization
