The ball is rolling towards Rose Hill Fall Festival 2015 and the first steps in planning the event scheduled for Friday, Oct. 9, Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, are being taken.
A theme for the festival is always chosen from among entries submitted by community residents and school students. This will set the flavor of the event and parade floats.
Festival themes for the last five years have been Peace, Love and Roses in 2014 by Emily Swearingen, Rose Hill – A Blooming Community in 2013 by Jessica Craft, Continuing to Thrive At 125 in 2012 by Dawn Alderson, Fall In Love With Rose Hill in 2011 by Camille Gregory and a Small City With A Big Heart in 2010 by Lovina Finders. New ideas will be welcome.
There is a $100 cash prize at stake for the winner. Any individual or organization within the USD 394 school district may enter. This includes students and school clubs. Start brainstorming Rose Hill!
Wednesday, April 22, is the deadline for entry submissions. All suggestions will be reviewed and voted on by the members of the festival committee. The winning theme will be used as the format for the annual fall festival button contest to follow.
Entry forms may be picked up at the Rose Hill Recreation Center or on their website at www.rosehillrec.com or www.rosehillfallfestival.com or The Rose Hill Reporter New Office during regular business hours as well as local business. Entries should be taken to the Rose Hill Recreation Center, at 400 S. Rose Hill Rd. They may also be mailed to PO Box 46, Rose Hill, KS 67133.
