Call to Order

The Executive Board Meeting was called to order by Gerald Amato at 12:07 pm. The meeting was held at American Family Ins Office.

Treasurer Report

Transfered money from Car Show acct into the general chamber account. Some revenue left in the Car Show fund for the memorial ongoing fund.

New Business

Guest Sarah Madden Office Manager Butler Electric Cooperative –

Last year rolled out Velocity for the rural internet.   They have a small business loan program and will share the program details.  Also a program Operation Roundup, that provides grants for 504c3 businesses.  They have a Scholarship program, but must be a rural customer of theirs.  Scholarship includes a student trip to the East coast, also a hiring programs for linemen, does not need to be rural customers.  Would be interested in all of our city

Old Business follow-up:

  1. Updates from the Scholarship subcommittee – reviewed new possible questions, will finalize to provide to Lee Media to put Application Online.  Review the qualifications (ie, within school district, etc)  Include the school counselor. Test the application, have the applications submitted and notification to all the Board. Application deadline March 31, 2022. Do we need to allocate any funds for advertising?  Motion to approve a $20 to boost the program by Andrea, 2nd by Sharynne.  Andrea amended to $40, Sharynne 2nd.  Approved for $20 January and $20 for February.
  2. Storage unit discussion results and final vote – $25 / month; half paid by Chamber, half by HTC – Request next size and cost.
  3. General meeting- finalize speaker, voting for board members, food    Sarah Madden of Butler Electric Coop as the main speaker.  Twisted Kitchen cater Chicken noodles for 25 people.
    1. Voting – Natalie, Sharynne and Andrea stepping down. Secretary – Lovina staying; Treasurer – Teressa is staying.  Lee Media Group to send a call for interest email asap.
  4. Chamber Bucks- did we get the stamp ordered and paper purchased? Did we create a spreadsheet created for tracking?
  5. Recruitment success was mentioned by Gerald.

 

New Business:

❖     Youth activity center update provided by Gerald. Interested committee members include Gayle, Mia.

❖     Home Based business recruitment, try to reach them via Facebook, encourage them to join

❖     Ribbon cutting

❖     Mixers, should Chamber host a mixer for a new start in 2022! New year start mixer. Feb. 17 the evening of the board meeting, start time 6:00pm possibly at the Rose Room
